A Bit About Me

I began scuba diving in 2011 and became a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor in 2013. What started as a fascination with the underwater world eventually became a life and business built around diving.

After working across resorts and liveaboards in the Maldives, I founded MaxDives in Hong Kong—first teaching courses and operating local dive boats, then evolving the brand toward curated overseas expeditions and experience-driven dive travel.

Today, I lead international dive trips, manage The Shark’s Tail Dive Resort in Malapascua, and continue developing businesses and systems around the diving industry. My work combines exploration, hospitality, operations and entrepreneurship.

I am particularly drawn to destinations with distinctive underwater environments—from the deep south of the Maldives and the currents of Komodo to the thresher sharks of Malapascua. For me, diving is more than recreation. It is a platform for building meaningful experiences, long-term relationships and an independent way of life.

2026

My university life at City University of Hong Kong, where I majored in Linguistics and Language Technology and minored in Computing. Graduated with a Bachelor's degree in hand.

Worked in a publishing company as IT support staff. Started scuba diving in 2011 and earned my PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certificate in 2013.

I started my journey as a fulltime instructor at Paradise Island Resort & Spa in the Maldives! Conducted many Discover Scuba Diving courses with guests from China and India. Also taught other diving courses and led fun dive activities.

My second job took me to Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa. This year, I also embarked on my first liveaboard trip in the Maldives. Started my own brand "MaxDives" this year.

Moved to a liveaboard job with Dune Maldives, mainly working on the boat Soleil 2. Focused on guiding dives and exploring marine creatures with divers.

Continued with Dune Maldives, then transitioned to Scubaspa liveaboard. Finished the season and headed back to Hong Kong.

Left the employee life and teamed up with my friend to get a small speedboat, "Porco Rosso". Launched my own company in Hong Kong and continued with my brand "MaxDives", leading diving courses and fun dive activities as captain.

Organized my first Maldives liveaboard trip for close scuba friends while continuing my diving business in Hong Kong as captain and instructor.

Prepped my second, larger speedboat, "Mononoke Hime", in Hong Kong. Business as usual, but shifted focus to organizing fun dive activities for underwater photographers, no longer teaching scuba courses. The pandemic brought international dive travel to a sudden stop, so I focused on developing Hong Kong diving operations aboard Mononoke Hime.

Fully utilized Mononoke Hime, completing countless fun dives day and night. We ventured into blackwater diving for the first time during these years. Still anchored in Hong Kong.

Finally, quarantine ended and borders opened. Resumed organizing Maldives liveaboard trips as my expertise. In September 2023, led a trip to Brunei, and in December 2023, headed to Raja Ampat for another liveaboard adventure.

Meanwhile, explored another possibility and found a place in Malapascua. Invested in The Shark’s Tail Dive Resort in Malapascua, opening a new chapter beyond dive travel and into resort ownership.

Completed numerous Maldives liveaboard expeditions while taking over the management of The Shark’s Tail Dive Resort and rebuilding its operations with a new team and long-term partners. I also launched my diving podcast to share underwater experiences and insights.

Led six Maldives liveaboard expeditions and a MaxDives expedition to Komodo while continuing to strengthen The Shark’s Tail Dive Resort and expand MaxDives as an overseas dive travel brand.

In 2026, I led five consecutive Maldives liveaboard expeditions while continuing to grow MaxDives and The Shark’s Tail Dive Resort.

My focus has expanded beyond leading dives to building strong teams and sustainable systems that deliver exceptional diving experiences—even without my constant presence.
